Brian Thompson, P.E.
Principal
Brian Thompson, P.E. [resume], is licensed in multiple states, including Washington and Oregon, as a fire protection engineer. He entered the fire protection field in 1993 and holds a master's degree in fire protection engineering. Brian has served as a member of the Washington State Fire Code Technical Advisory Group and was selected by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to speak at the 2008 World Safety Conference & Exposition. His research has been cited in the Journal of Fire Protection Engineering and his expertise has been referenced in a trade periodical. Project responsibilities include developing and evaluating alternative design strategies for project fire protection and building code compliance as well as system inspection and testing.
AEGIS ENGINEERING, PLLC was established in 2006 and is a small business enterprise (SBE). We specialize in providing responsive, professional fire protection engineering and building code consulting solutions. Our services include evaluation of existing buildings and new construction, in addition to third-party review services on behalf of local jurisdictions. This blend of clientele enables us to respond effectively to fast-track projects in the design-build arena, while addressing the detailed level of scrutiny demanded by Authorities Having Jurisdiction with regard to fire protection and life safety code requirements.
AEGIS Engineering also has experience reviewing project drawings and existing facilities with regard to significant fire protection and building code life safety requirements. We have applied performance-based design approaches and developed alternate means and methods strategies on a variety of projects.

Travis Allen, P.E. [resume] is a licensed fire protection engineer with AEGIS Engineering. Travis has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and has been practicing engineering in the consulting field since 1989 with an emphasis in fire protection engineering, loss control and risk reduction strategies. His varied experience includes all aspects of specification, design, contracting, review, inspection, and commissioning, as well as the interpretation and application of building and fire codes.
